These terms of service (the "Terms") govern your use of GrammarGuru, so please take the time to read them carefully. By accessing or using GrammarGuru, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use GrammarGuru.

Our Mission Statement and our Business Model

Our mission statement is aimed at improving people's verbal and written communication via the usage of a writing tool. We offer a free trial initially and hope you’ll purchase one of our paid products. We don’t and never will sell your data.

Service Description

GrammarGuru is an AI writing tool that provides suggestions and corrections to improve your writing. The tool is designed to help you improve your writing skills, but it is not a substitute for professional editing services. GrammarGuru is a paid service, and access to its features and functionality is subject to payment of the applicable fee.

Data Privacy

GrammarGuru respects the privacy of its users and is committed to protecting the information that you provide to us. We do not store any of your information in terms of user content. Your rights as a paid customer, rights to cancellation, and the fact that your data will never be stored or used are all in compliance with global laws. We comply with all applicable data privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for our users in the European Union.

Payments and Refunds

GrammarGuru is a paid service, and access to its features and functionality is subject to payment of the applicable fee. We offer several payment plans, and the fees for each plan are outlined on our website. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by GrammarGuru

Cancellation and Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by clicking on the ‘Billing’ option in app menu, or by contacting us at [email protected] or [email protected]. Upon cancellation, you will no longer have access to GrammarGuru's features and functionality.
Downgrades: Your paid account will stay active until cancelled or terminated. If payment is not made on time, we reserve the right to reduce your access to the free version of our products or suspend it.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our products with notice to you if:(1) you have been in breach of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy,
(2) If you use the products/services in a manner that would cause a real risk of harm or loss to us or to other GrammarGuru users.
(3) you don’t have a paid account and haven’t accessed our products for 12 consecutive months - you will be notified prior to this.
Before suspending or terminating your account, we will provide you with reasonable notice in advance via the email address associated with your account so you can try to remedy the activity that prompted us to contact you. If you fail to take the steps we ask of you after such notice, we will terminate or suspend your access to our products.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our products with notice to you if:(1) you have been in breach of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy,
(2) If you use the products/services in a manner that would cause a real risk of harm or loss to us or to other GrammarGuru users.
(3) you don’t have a paid account and haven’t accessed our products for 12 consecutive months - you will be notified prior to this.

We won’t provide notice before termination when it is believed that:(a) you have been/are in material breach of these terms/Acceptable Use Policy.
(b) If it will cause us legal liability or a compromise of our ability to be able to provide our products to our other users.
(c)If the law forbids us from providing any notice.
When this agreement is to terminate.

The termination of this agreement does not affect any amounts owed before that termination.

Discontinuation/ Modification of Products

We are continually changing and improving our services/products.
We may add or remove features or functionality. If we discontinue a product, where possible we will give you notice prior.

Prohibited Use

Do not upload or share any content on GrammarGuru that is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or violates any intellectual property rights. Do not distribute viruses or interfere with the platform's functionality or networks. Do not engage in unauthorised advertising, solicitation, or attempt to collect personal information without consent. Follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Intellectual Property

GrammarGuru and its technology, features, and functionality are the intellectual property of GrammarGuru and its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of GrammarGuru without the express written consent of GrammarGuru. All content and materials included on the platform, such as text, graphics, logos, images, and software, are the property of GrammarGuru or its licensors and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

User Content and Licensing

Your User Content refers to texts and documents you submit, and you retain ownership. To use our products, we need your permission to use your User Content. This licence is limited to operating, maintaining, enhancing, fixing, and customising products to meet specific needs. It's a worldwide, non-exclusive, and royalty-free licence that lasts as long as your User Content is protected by intellectual property laws. This allows us to store, reproduce, use, modify, and create derivative works of your User Content. We're not responsible for verifying or endorsing User Content, and you're responsible for backing it up and using it legally and safely.

Warranty Disclaimer

GrammarGuru is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind. GrammarGuru makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of GrammarGuru or the information, content, materials, or products included on GrammarGuru. To the full extent permissible by applicable law, GrammarGuru disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Acceptable Use Policy

You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy when you use our products. Keeping your account information up to date and safe. You are responsible for safeguarding your password to our products. Don’t share your account credentials or give others access to your account. We will use your account email address to contact you about our products, so you must ensure that your account information stays current. Minimum age requirements. To use our products, you must be at least 13 if you reside in the United States and 16 if you reside anywhere else. If the law where you reside requires that you are older for us to lawfully provide our products to you without parental consent (including using your information), you must be that age. You may not use our products if you don’t meet these age requirements.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall GrammarGuru be liable for any damages, including without limitation, direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, losses, or expenses arising in connection with GrammarGuru or use thereof or inability to use by any party, or in connection with any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, or line or system failure, even if GrammarGuru, or representatives thereof, are advised of the possibility of such damages, losses, or expenses.

Modifications to These Terms

GrammarGuru can change these Terms at any time, and your use of the platform after changes means you agree to them. If you cancel your free trial early, you lose any remaining time. We only provide one free trial per user.

Changes to Fees

We may change fees in the future, but you'll receive advance notice before they take effect in the next billing cycle.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. No Class Actions. You may only resolve disputes with us individually, meaning you may not bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in a class, consolidated, or representative action. Class arbitrations, class actions, private attorney general actions, and consolidation with other arbitrations are not allowed.

Resolving Disputes

We would like to at least attempt to resolve any disputes before they ever get the chance to escalate. Before filing any claim/complaint against GrammarGuru, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting [email protected] or [email protected].

We will try to resolve the dispute by reaching out to you via email. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, a written Notice of Dispute must be sent to the other party via certified mail.
